Hey There!

Well then, here goes! My first music-making experience as a child featured a hardcover book as a drum and a couple of cheap pens as my drumsticks. A lifetime of incessant tapping on every surface imaginable would soon follow. Even still, my parents and teachers alike have fostered my musical passions with saintlike patience and grace every step of the way.

As I progressed in my musical training, I auditioned for and was accepted into my local district ensemble program for the first time. Here, I encountered two pieces that I will remember forever: Gustav Holst's "Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity," and Rossano Galante's "Mount Everest." Before this, I knew music could be "cool," "exciting," and "fun." In that fateful first rehearsal, I learned that music could be awe-inspiringly beautiful.

Today, I am a working musician in a wide variety of contexts. I was recently chosen as a winner of the IC Concerto Competition for my performance of Gene Koshinski's Concerto for Marimba and Choir. In 2022, I aged out as a center snare drummer for the Spartans Drum and Bugle Corps and continue my involvement in the marching arts as a clinician, instructor, and arranger both throughout the Finger Lakes region of New York and back home in Massachusetts. I am also a published music researcher with a passion for music theory and history.

In my free time I enjoy cooking, hiking, reading, video games, and spending time with my cats.
